The Theravada-Tradition, which is practiced today mainly in Southeast Asia is based on a subpart of the Buddhas teachings. One of the core elements of Buddhism and the Theravada-Tradition are The Four Noble Truths. The first noble truth is the truth of suffering. The second one is the truth of the true causes of suffering and the third noble truth is the cessation of suffering. The fourth noble truth finally describes the eightfold path that leads to the cessation of suffering.
